What’s tested in an Iron Status Profile?

Iron is a vital element in the body, playing a key role in the formation of red blood cells that transport oxygen throughout the body.

Low iron levels can lead to anaemia, a common condition that causes symptoms such as fatigue, weakness, and feeling cold, and can progress to more serious health issues if left untreated.

This test checks your iron levels and iron stores. We also assess how efficiently your body absorbs iron, as this process may be impaired in conditions that affect the liver.
