What does our Allergy Profile test cover?

The UK's most comprehensive allergy test panel, testing for 295 allergens, offers an in-depth assessment of your allergic sensitivities.

Allergies affect around one in four people, yet many individuals overlook their symptoms, leading to complications like hay fever, allergic asthma, or unnecessary dietary restrictions. This test checks for 295 relevant allergens (excluding drug allergens like penicillin) and includes molecular allergen testing. This provides a detailed understanding of allergic cross-reactions and allows for a more accurate risk assessment of food allergies, helping to create personalised dietary recommendations. Additionally, allergen-specific immunotherapy can be targeted at key triggers (such as pollen, house dust mites, and insect venoms) to help manage symptoms.

It's important to note that an allergy differs from a food intolerance, which is the difficulty in digesting certain foods, often mediated by IgG antibodies, rather than IgE antibodies, which are measured in this allergy test.
